Grassroots rugby relies entirely on the hard work, dedication, and practical skills of people who give up their spare time to keep the club moving forward. For August, we are thrilled to award our Volunteer of the Month title to Pete Cooper.

Pete stepped up in his own time to rescue our club scrum machine from an early grave out in the weeds. Rather than letting equipment go to waste, he rolled up his sleeves, gave the machine a full, thorough service, and brought it back into top working order.

Thanks to his graft and mechanical know-how, our players can now put the machine to full use during training sessions. We are looking forward to seeing the physical rewards of his hard work pay off on the pitch when matchdays roll around this season.

Volunteers like Pete are the absolute backbone of Essington RUFC. Whether it is maintaining heavy equipment, pitching in on match days, or helping behind the scenes, every bit of effort makes a massive difference to our community club.
