August Newsletter

Welcome to the August 2026 edition of the Essington RUFC newsletter. As we head towards the new season, there is plenty happening on and off the pitch across all our teams and sections. To view click HERE

Junior Rugby Returns – Now on Wednesdays!

We are delighted to announce that Junior Rugby training is back at Essington Rugby Club on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, specifically open to boys aged 14 to 18 of all abilities and experience levels. Led by our friendly coaching team, sessions focus on core handling skills, game laws and tactics, fitness, and building confidence while making new friends.

Staffs Touch Series Concludes & Thank You Coach Faz

The final round of the Mixed Touch Rugby Tournament took place at Stafford Rugby Club, capping off a brilliant campaign for the Essington Hawks. Highlights included a third-round victory and fielding two teams on multiple occasions. We also paid a special tribute to Head Coach Simon 'Faz' Farrow, whose final tournament in charge took place in July. Faz has been named our very first Volunteer of the Month for his years of dedication, though he will still make guest coaching appearances.

Men's Contact Training & Pre-Season Fixtures

Pre-season training for our men's contact team runs every Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. With player numbers growing, we are aiming to field a second team this season. Warm-up matches are scheduled against Penkridge (Friday 15th August) and Rugeley (Friday 22nd August) ahead of our competitive Owen Cup opener against Stone on Friday 5th September.

Dinner Dance Feedback – We Want Your Thoughts!

Following our recent events, whether you attended the Dinner Dance or were unable to make it this year, we would love to get your feedback. We have put together a quick, anonymous survey taking less than two minutes to complete, which will help us shape and improve future club events. You can share your thoughts by filling out the survey via our Dinner Dance Feedback Form.
