We were QBE competion Winners!!! Resulting in Essington RFC being trained with rugby stars from Gloucester RFC.

The training was on Wed 13th Apr, with Paul Doran-Jones, Rory Lawson and also Charlie Sharples - all from Gloucester's 1st team.

Essington RFC, (nominated by Simon Fletcher, Sales and Development Manger in Product Protection at QBE), won us the internal QBE Rugby Pro competition. The judges were impressed by the hard work shown by Essington coaches and their efforts to introduce more young people to the game by working with neighbouring clubs and holding a host of community events.

In addition, the club will receive 1,000pounds worth of training equipment.

The competition received 150 entries in its inaugural year and was judged by a panel which included Paul Morgan, Editor of Rugby World; Corin Palmer, Head of Academies and Development at Premiership Rugby; Nicholas Mott, QBE European Operations Sponsorship Manager and Pete Graham QBE European Operations Underwriter. QBE Rugby Pro is part of QBEs Developing Talent programme.
