Essington 2nds v Wolverhampton 3rds

What a complete contrast to previous weeks as Essington appeared to be in with a chance of winning this game throughout the first half, only to give up completely at half time. A competitive but error strewn first half saw the score remain at 0 - 0 right up to the 47th minute of this period, when Wolverhampton finally managed to cross the Essington line.
In the second half, Essington were woeful at times, seemingly unable to make a tackle or string two passes together. Wolverhampton fully capitalized on this and ran out eventual winners 40 – 0. Credit must go to Phil Russell, showing the class of a first team player returning from injury, and to Matt Craddock who worked tirelessly and thoroughly justified his man of the match performance. The quality of these two, stood out as the bright point of a very disappointing day.
