E Essington 2nds v Brinsford 1.10.11
By Our man on the inside
Esssington went to Brinsford with only 13 men and lost another due to an administrative error before even entering the prison.
In the first half, everyone tried hard but the gaps in the defence were exploited by the opposition to the full, giving them a 22-0 half time lead. In the second half, Essington managed to keep the ball for long periods of time with continous pick and drive plays, culminating in their only try of the game. Despite this, two line-out errors allowed the opposition to score two further tries, negating all the hard work in this half.
Credit has to be given for the tireless efforts of JJ Gallagher and to Rob Heath for his work in defence, as well as Mark Osborn for his outrageous drop goal, but unanimous man of the match was Luke Adams for his constant sniping runs from the base of the scrum. Final sore Essington 8 Brinsford 39.
