Saturday 17th December: Christmas Family Party.


This year the Kids party and Christmas ball is combined into the Christmas Family Party.
Was a time to party, party, party...with music and buffet food...and Santa and a Grotto!
Festive woolly jumpers and festive headgear was worn.

Saturday 5th November: Bonfire Night.

We had a huge bonfire, fireworks, sparklers and loads of food.


Saturday 8th October: Quiz.
Quiz night and the "Essington Cocktail" launch.
Ginger productions quizmaster challenged our brain cells.
We launched our "Essington Cocktail", to raise money for our charity - Birmingham Childrens Hospital.


Sat 25th June: Charity Touch Rugby Match.
Essington's Touch Rugby festival success.
We had 6 local teams enter the inaugural Essington Touch Rugby competition. These included: The Meercats, The Panthers, The Muppet's, The Leopards, plus The Essington Lambs & The Essington Mutton.
Ages rannged from 14 to 55 and they provided some fantastic carnival rugby.
In between games, players could enjoy a Beer a Burger or even a go on the bouncy castle......
After 3 hours of fun sweat and beers The Panthers came out as winners with The Lambs & The Leopards not far behind.
A great advert for rugby and thanks to all those involved see you all next year for more of the same.


Sun 22nd May: Creighton RFC game.
Creighton RFC were on tour in the midlands. A game, some singing and some drinking.


Sat 14th May: Eurovision Night -Dusseldorf 2011.
Euro quiz and games in the Euro Lounge in front of the TV broadcast.
An evening full of banter, songs good and not so good!

Fri 29rd April: Annual Dinner Dance and Prize giving.
Wonderful end to the season with a 4 course dinner, dancing till late and numberous prizes for our rugby players.
An excuse for the ladies to dress up. Award winners....are here!



Sun 1st May: Chairmans Day.
A fun day for all the family. Lots of food, games and of course the match of the season!

We are QBE competion Winners and were trained by Gloucester Rugby stars.

Sat 12th Feb: Boys night in.
A party for the lads! Included: Chinese Buffet meal, bar games, films and more.



Sat 5th Feb: Live Rock bands play for charity.
"Jailler" (featuring our player Martin!) and "ASOS" (featuring players Bic Mac and Colin).
All proceeds went to "Royal British Legion" Charity.
We raised 180pounds for Poppy Appeal from the band night!

Fri 28th Jan: Murder Mystery and Casino evening.
You were invited to a murder....
Set back in time to 1880 and to the Old West. We became a bad boy outlaw or one of Iggy's girls.
Note from Mike and Helen: "Just back from a great Murder night at Essington RUFC. A big thank you to Dave Brawn and his Daughter Jennie, everyone who turned up had a great night, thank you for all the hard work you put in. A few characters failed to turn up, but the stand ins were great. Those who did not come will not know who dunit.. Thanks to Stu Jones for taking even more money off us and turning my daughter into a gambler. Will this event run next year???? we need the support and it really was very entertaining and a brill night out. Thank you and good night."

Thanks to our sponsor, A & C Recruitment, some of our lads had the chance to play at Welford Road in a Corporate Seven-A-Side competition.
It was a great day out, enjoyed by players, spectators and cheerleaders.

We were a proud venue for the Sport Relief 2010 Charity Run. We had a cake stall, tombola, bouncy castle and more...
Also our run was be openned by the real Wolverhampton Wanderers mascot... "Wolfie" !!!!

What a great night, set list included Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse "Valarie", Kings of Leon "The Bucket", Bryan Adams "Summer of 69", Feeder "Buck Rogers", Razorlight "Golden Touch", Joan Jett "I love Rock and Roll", One Republic "Stop and Stare". Em's (lead singers) soulful voice and good looks were complimented by the excellent Colin on lead guitar and tight display by the rest of the band, well done to "STAND NAKED FOR PEACE " hope to see you again some time soon. Highly recommended!!

Club day out at Edgbaston for an afternoon of Cricket - Sunday 20th July Pro 40 Match between Warwickshire and Kent.

Poker Night - Saturday 17th May: Any good at poker. No? Neither were the rest of us, apart from the hustlers....

Chairmans Weekend inc Annual Dinner Dance and Owen Cup - Fri 2nd - Sun 4th May: Good food, good music, good company and lots of awards at the Dinner. A game of Sevens on Saturday and a big final game of the Owen Cup. Phew!
