The club band.... "The Players"!

This was a Talent night...so the big question is did Essington find their new star ???

Well i'm afraid that with a poor turn out from the members / players (shame on you ) it was always going to be difficult.
To add to the star search woes there was a 100 percent refusal from all but the children to show their vocal or dancing skills.

So entertainment was left to the previously unheard " THE PLAYERS " Essington RUFC's newly formed band...

The line up was a mixture of old and new.
On drums Martin "animal" Berry. The 3 guitars where lead by Colin "Fluff" Hayden (pretty boy), with Mark "Mac" Shingler on bass and Gerwyn "awimbaway" Jones on rhythm and vocals. Finally the front man was Mark "Bommer" Osborn.

The scene was set ……………..Neil Greenwood introduced the "THE PLAYERS" and they stepped onto the stage for the first time. The sound checks had been done, so dressed in black they burst in to life ………………………… ………………Could they entertain??

The simple answer is yes !!!!

After only the first song the crowd burst into applause and eagerly waited for more. Seven songs in total and everyone ended to rapturous applause. So the question is did Essington find there new star? Simply, yes! "THE PLAYERS" can play!
There where one or two who thought that "THE PLAYERS" would be a flop, how wrong they where. Wembley or the NEC maybe not but I assure you that "THE PLAYERS" will be back by popular demand. A few more songs and a little more practise will make them an unmissable nights entertainment.
